1. Who we are

CareerPilot is an AI career guidance service operated by Avanteia (https://avanteia.com) ("Avanteia", "we", "us"). For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), Avanteia is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data you give us on this website.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect only what we need to give you career guidance and manage your account:

• Identity and contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
• Profile details: your city or address and your education level.
• Assessment data: your answers in the AI career chat and the roadmaps generated for you (job roles, education path and recommended courses).
• Account data: your sign-in method, email verification status, the date and version of the consent you gave, and sign-up and last-active timestamps.
• Technical data: browser storage and cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure (see our Cookie Policy).
• If you continue as a guest, we collect the same details you enter on the guest form.

3. Why we use your data (purposes)

We will not use your data for any purpose that you have not consented to or that the law does not otherwise permit.

• To create and verify your account and keep it secure.
• To run the AI career assessment and generate your personalised roadmap, job-role matches and course recommendations.
• To recommend Avanteia courses relevant to your goals, and for our team to contact you about your enquiry or those courses.
• To maintain, improve and protect the service, and to meet legal obligations.

4. Your consent

We process your personal data on the basis of your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, which you give by ticking the consent box when you create an account or continue as a guest. We record when you gave consent and which version of this policy it related to.

You may withdraw your consent at any time as easily as you gave it, by writing to us at the address below. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it, but we may then be unable to continue providing the personalised service.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under appropriate safeguards:

• Google Firebase (authentication and database) to sign you in and store your profile and roadmaps.
• AI providers (Google Gemini and Groq) to generate your career questions and roadmap. Your assessment answers are sent to them for that purpose only.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Government or law-enforcement authorities where we are legally required to.

6. Transfers outside India

Some of the providers above may process data on servers outside India. We transfer data only to countries and providers that are not restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and erase it when you withdraw consent or ask us to delete it, unless we must retain it by law. Accounts that stay unverified are not stored in our database.

8. Your rights under the DPDP Act

To exercise any right, email info@avanteia.com or call +91 93074 02403 from the email or phone number linked to your account so that we can verify it is you.

• Right to access: get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
• Right to correction and completion: correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can also edit your profile in the app).
• Right to erasure: ask us to delete your personal data and account.
• Right to withdraw consent at any time.
• Right of grievance redressal: have your concern addressed by us, within a reasonable time.
• Right to nominate: nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated.

9. Children

If you are under 18, you may use CareerPilot only with the verifiable consent of your parent or lawful guardian, who must agree to this policy on your behalf. We do not track or monitor children's behaviour or show them targeted advertising.

10. Security

We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections and access-controlled databases, to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by law.

11. Grievance officer and complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, contact our Grievance Officer at Avanteia: info@avanteia.com, +91 93074 02403. We aim to respond within 7 days and resolve complaints within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
